2023
More than 1 billion cows around the world will experience heat stress by the end of the century if carbon emissions are high and environmental protection is low, according to new research published in Environmental Research Letters. This would mean cattle farming would face potentially lethal heat stress in much of the world, including Central America, tropical South America, Equatorial Africa, and South and Southeast Asia.

Ecowatt, la "météo" de l'électricité RTE mise sur sa plateforme Ecowatt (www.monecowatt.fr) pour améliorer la "sobriété" énergétique des Français. Elle permet aux entreprises, collectivités et particuliers d'être avertis d'éventuelles tensions sur le réseau électrique trois jours à l'avance et d'adopter des écogestes pour réduire leur consommation, sur la base du volontariat. À ce jour, 100.000 personnes sont inscrites sur la plateforme Ecowatt.
Dans les prochains mois, les Français sont appelés à multiplier les petits gestes pour réduire leur consommation électrique. Un outil est mis à leur disposition pour anticiper les moments de tension.

Farming is a complex issue on the journey to net zero, as it is both a source and sink for emissions.
