A beauty company has appointed a director to represent nature on its board, giving the natural world a legal say in its business strategy. Faith In Nature, which sells soap and haircare products, as well as household cleaners and shampoo for dogs, says it is the first company in the world to give nature a formal vote on corporate decisions that might affect it

Russian energy company Rosneft announced the discovery of a massive oil resource in the Pechora Sea with an estimated 82 million tons of oil. A drilling campaign in the Medynsko-Varandeysky area led to the discovery of the field. “During the tests, a free flow of oil was obtained with a maximum flow rate of 220 cubic meters a day,” the company’s statement read on Wednesday, noting that the “oil is light, low-sulfur, low viscosity.” According to Rosneft, the exploratory work in the Pechora Sea confirmed the "substantial oil potential of the Timan-Pechora province on the shelf and served as the foundation for continuing the study and development of the region."

Les Emirats arabes unis ont annoncé jeudi la découverte de réserves de gaz par ses premières concessions d'exploration offshore, de nature à contribuer à l'objectif d'autosuffisance en gaz du riche pays pétrolier. Entre 42,5 milliards et 56,5 milliards de mètres cubes de gaz brut ont été découverts, a indiqué dans un communiqué le géant émirati de l'énergie, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc).

La fuite sur un pipeline appartenant à Star Petroleum Refining Public Company Limited (SPRC) a commencé le 25 janvier, au large de la province de Rayong, à une vingtaine de kilomètres des côtes. These emissions and their consequences do not respect any sort of public/private distinction, nor borders, nor the rights to clean air or clean water.
